Reading an essay question

These days an increasing number of developing countries are improving their tourism industries. Why do you think this is the case? Is this a positive or a negative development?

The first line is a general statement. This is the basic line we would be focusing on while making our introduction.

The second line is a question. Notice the word "You". Since "You" has been used, we would be giving our opinion on this topic, which also means that we would be using the word "I".

The third line is also a question. However, this asks for more specific reasons and examples. Depending on your opinion the weightage for both developments would vary.

Making an introduction for an essay is considered to be one of the challenging aspects of writing. Specially when the complete task depends upon it. Afterall, the introduction is what makes a good impression!

Once, we are done with the introduction, writing the reasons and giving relevant examples would not be a problem at all!
